Having relocated to 'The Pod' and launched Studio 2 in January, Poppyland Radio were delighted to receive a generous gift from MKM North Walsham at the crack of dawn this morning.
Mike Goldwater of Poppyland Radio walked into the brand new builders merchants in North Walsham unannounced a few weeks ago, and asked Leigh Sadler, Director of MKM (North Walsham) if he could help with the construction of the new studio complex. Leigh was only too happy to oblige, and all the building materials needed to build the multi-seat Studio 1 from, were delivered to The Pod this morning on a bright yellow and blue MKM truck, heralding the next exciting phase of development of Poppyland Radio.
Work starts on construction over the weekend, and local builders and tradesmen have kindly volunteered to undertake the project free of charge. Any local people willing to lend a hand with the decorating once the 'walls of sound' have been built, are encouraged to contact the station on studio@poppylandradio.co.uk.
By early May, Poppyland Radio expects Studios 1 and 2 to be operating at full capacity, providing ample facilities for their 52 presenters to produce more and even better shows from the new state of the art studios. You never know, it may be the difference between winning the national Community Radio Awards 'Best Digital Station' Silver Award in 2022, and scooping Gold in 2023?
