About the event
Howlin' Mat will perform live at The Peasants' Tavern in North Walsham on Sunday, 28th September, as part of our Sunday Sessions. We feature a live acoustic act at 3.30pm on the last Sunday of each month. This month, we present Howlin' Mat, a true blues nomad!
Howlin' Mat has embraced an almost nomadic lifestyle to become one of the most dedicated solo blues performers, with shows across the UK and Europe. His blues journey began around 15 years ago, playing music by artists such as Robert Johnson, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Earl Hooker, Robert Nighthawk, and Hound Dog Taylor. Over time, he has built a strong reputation as a blues guitarist, particularly noted for his slide guitar expertise. He is also a skilled enthusiast of the Cigar Box Guitar, earning praise from John Paul Jones [Led Zeppelin] and Mud Morganfield [son of Muddy Waters].
