About the event

On February 21st at 7pm in St Botolph's, Trunch, we will present the NT Live production of 'The Importance of Being Earnest,' featuring three-time Olivier Award-winner Sharon D Clarke and Ncuti Gatwa (Doctor Who, Sex Education) in a delightful reinterpretation of Oscar Wilde’s most renowned comedy. As Jack plays the part of a responsible guardian in the countryside, he indulges in a carefree lifestyle in the city under a false identity. Similarly, his friend Algy adopts a deceptive persona. In their quest to win over two eligible women, the men become entangled in a complex web of lies they must skillfully manage. Directed by Max Webster (Life of Pi), this amusing tale of identity, impersonation, and romance was filmed live at the National Theatre in London.
