After months of planning and organising, the inaugural Poppyland Radio Awards have been launched.
Designed to recognise and celebrate the best of North Norfolk, Poppyland Radio listeners and members of the public are invited to nominate the best businesses, organisations, facilities and people. A specially invited panel of VIP judges will then scrutinise each entry and draw up a shortlist for each of the eight awards categories. From 1 July, the public can then vote for their favourite finalist in each category.

The winners will be revealed in October at a star-studded Gala Awards Night held in the prestigious Ballroom at The Cliftonville in Cromer. Andrew Brammer, Poppyland Radio presenter and creator of the ever-popular Stumpy Sanderson's 70s Stories show, will host the event before embarking on his UK tour with Stumpy and his chums.
Sharon Bornheim of The Creative Desk is The Poppyland Radio Awards organiser. She has been planning the Awards since last Autumn and is very excited about the opportunity to showcase and celebrate so many of the exceptional businesses and people of North Norfolk.
"The best part of it all is that the listeners will be nominating and voting, so the winners really will be the people's choice"

Notes for Editors
Launched in February 2022, Poppyland Radio is a digital radio station serving communities across North Norfolk. As a Community Interest Company (CIC), the station was created to benefit the community and the listeners rather than private shareholders, and is run entirely by volunteers.
Shows are produced in a dedicated studio in North Norfolk and also from an outside broadcast rig – ideal for live events and community gatherings. Whilst mainstream and special interest music shows feature prominently in the schedule, a broad range of talk shows and specialist content serves the many and varied interests of the listeners.
