The Peasant's Tavern, a multi-award-winning pub in North Walsham, is sponsoring The Folk Explosion, the popular specialist music show on Poppyland Radio.

As show sponsors, The Peasants' Tavern will raise their profile in North Norfolk, getting regular mentions from Folk Explosion co-presenters Clare Tallboys and Dave Miller. They'll make guest appearances on the show and will be collaborating on a series of live music events and outside broadcasts too.
It's not as if the pub needs any help in raising its profile locally though. Co-director, Pub Manager and Beer Sommelier Charlie Holden has already picked up the Norwich & District CAMRA District Pub of the Year 2025 Award on behalf of the pub, co-director and design guru Jayne Morton earned a commendation at the prestigious CAMRA Pub Design Awards, and The Peasants’ is a shortlisted finalist in the 'Raising the Bar' category in The Poppyland Radio Awards.

As well as being one of the most highly regarded pubs in North Norfolk, with an exceptional range of real ales, fine wines, craft beers, ciders and spirits, The Peasants' Tavern is also a popular live music venue. One of the highlights of the year is their 'Blues, Roots and Folk Music Festival' which they hosted in May, attracting the attention of Clare and Dave from The Folk Explosion. According to Adam Darricott, Peasants’ co-director, event manager and musician, the Festival was a real hit this year:
We have no TV screens or fruit machines, just great beer, great staff - and great chats with regulars and visitors. They love real ale and real music, so that's my excuse for organising so many regular live sessions!
Completing the line-up of four directors, Paul East also recognises the important role good pubs have in bringing communities together. This is self-evident at The Peasants', where the vibe is relaxed and friendly, especially after a few pints of the latest guest beer!
Listen to The Folk Explosion on Thursdays from 8pm on Poppyland Radio and on catch-up if you miss a show.
