WHAT’S OUR STORY?
Poppyland Community Radio was born out of lockdown in 2021 and has been entertaining, informing and amusing listeners ever since. With a superb blend of mainstream and specialist music shows, chat, community information and friendly banter we're on a mission to bring great entertainment, insight and music to listeners across North Norfolk and beyond. We want our programmes to help combat loneliness and isolation and of course to entertain, to be useful and to be talked about. We depend on enthusiastic volunteers and are happy to welcome more into the Poppyland Radio family. With incomparable shows and charismatic presenters, we're quickly gaining a great reputation (and awards) along our stretch of the North Sea coast.

Its incredibly easy to get behind the mic in our fully equipped studios, and more fun than you could possibly imagine!
We're always looking for new friends and volunteers to help us in the following areas:

Present a programme or join a show team

Help with our social media and other digital channels

Become a show producer, editor or techie

Help with fundraising and sponsorship

Organise OBs (outside broadcasts)

Manage live events or special projects

Research local news for the presenters to talk about

Into sport? Provide match reports, club news and results

Got an idea for a show?
Submit a Programme Proposal. If you've never presented a radio show, don't worry. We'll train you, help you produce your first show and fully support you.
Once you've been trained, just book studio time at The Pod to record your show. The Pod is our smart studio complex which was built in 2023 with the generous help of MKM Building Supplies, North Walsham.
