Vattenfall invited Poppyland Radio to join them in the Explorium Marquee at the Norwich Science Festival, and broadcast to visitors on Valentine’s Day.
It was busy all day as visitors learned about offshore wind power, how it's harnessed and the importance of sustainable energy. There were also plenty of activities for enquiring young minds who came along during the half term break.
The Poppyland Radio outside broadcast was a huge success as some of the star presenters of Poppyland Radio took turns ‘on the decks’ during the marathon six and a half hour gig. DJ Gavin, co-presenter of The Three Kitchen Amigos, kicked off the session with George Balding, currently at UEA and on placement with Poppyland Radio, producing the set.
DJ Funky Chicken of the Friday Funktion treated everyone to hits from his funky playlist, and was followed by 'Blunders', presenter of The Cromer Cricket Catch Up with some special Valentine's Day tracks. Surprise star guest, rap artist Bingi Bingham, provided an unscheduled live set before Clare Tallboys, co-presenter of The Folk Explosion with Dave Miller, took over the interview mic from roving reporter 'Mic' Goldwater to chat with the next generation of young scientists who came along. Adam Wood and his entire young family were top roadies for the day.
